| LBSP Community Will data analysis play a (much) bigger role?
Hogeschool Leiden lecturer Bo Blanckenburg is researching how the laboratory analyst profession will change in the future. Will data analysis play an exceeding role? Is lab work shifting towards data analysis, or do you see other trends? What should the lab worker of the future be able to do?
Only with your input we can train or retrain the right people for the LBSP of the future! Let us know what you think via the survey of the Hogeschool Leiden CBD department. It only takes 5 minutes and will help the Hogeschool Leiden tremendously to create training that is seamlessly connected to practice. LBSP Community IP: what, why, how?
Are you walking around with questions about IP and how you can use it in your business? This past year, I started offering free consulting hours at LBSP. Several entrepreneurs have already attended and learnt how to navigate the IP-landscape. My name is Katja Apelt, intellectual property (IP) advisor from the Netherlands Patent Office. Every month I offer in-house consultation hours at LBSP. During my consulting hours, I have discussed many different cases, but two topics tend to stand out: patent licensing and reasons to file a patent I have two tips for you: 1) Patents - Patents have no value by themselves. True value can be created by embedding them into your business strategy
2) Licensing – Be involved during the strategic moments, such as assigning countries, in the patent procedure. Does that get you thinking? Please don't hesitate to schedule an appointment.
I can promise it will be an hour well spent. Just fill out the form: https://forms.gle/SLTxkwPXauSX4vnL6 and I will reach out to schedule an appointment. The services of the Netherlands Patent Office are free, independent and completely confidential. |
| Unlock_ Community What happened during the selection days for the 2023 unlock_ incubation program?
Last week we were joined by 9 promising life science startups across the two selection days for the incubation program. The startups were welcomed in the Starters Wing at BioPartner Leiden 5. The first selection day focused on getting to know one another, and working on the business milestones for the upcoming three years under the guidance of our unlock_ experts. These milestones mark the starting points that can be achieved throughout the program.
On the second day, each startup completed their selection process with a pitch in front of our amazing jury: Rebekah Bikker, Linn Bäckegren, Ram Siddappa, PhD, MBA and Bas Reichert. After 9 impressive and persuasive pitches, each startup highlighted the needs they have for joining the program. At the end, with the help of our jury, the selection has been made!
If selected for the program, each startup will receive tailor-made advice and support from our coaches and industry experts to help grow their business. They will also unlock their investor readiness, hard and soft business skills, and experience working on 1 of the top 5 bio science parks in the Netherlands.
Who will be joining the program? Stay tuned as we will be introducing our new participants soon through LinkedIn. |
