International Talent program Zuid-Holland
The International Talent program focuses on attracting and retaining international technical talent. We do this together with partners – including LBSP, Leiden University and Hogeschool Leiden, Janssen and of course Expat Centre Leiden – to develop our region and the life sciences sector as an attractive place to work for international direction. We increase the collective talent pool for our region and support the employers at the LBSP. We also organise specific named activities for smaller companies about the do's and don'ts of hiring international talent.
Why is international talent important? Diversity in teams is good for innovation and productivity. Internationals bring new knowledge and networks. And of course because the job market demands it: right now there are 121 vacancies where there are only 100 people available. Some very specialised technical talent in life sciences can only be found abroad. If we want innovative companies to be able to continue to innovate and grow at the LBSP, we all need to collaborate to invest in that international talent
Do you have a question or do you also want to become a partner? Please contact Sasja Heijman, International Talent Program Manager at Sasja.heijman@innovationquarter.nl

With the role of digital technology increasingly becoming more vital and a larger part of everything we do; the question lingers as to how we can ensure that technology serves humans in a manner that is beneficial and responsible to everyone. Part of the complexity of new technologies is that they can often have unintended consequences, bringing questions of ethics to the forefront, both in terms of the design of technology and of impact. This series of short lectures will shed light on this under-explored topic of faith-based ethics and technology, and to highlight why bringing diversity and inclusion into the conversation is necessary to ensure that no one is left behind in the digital revolution. |
