Technological innovations and the persistent curiosity to explore the world around us have characterized Vaisala from the very beginning, reaching from land to space. Vaisala’s innovative technology will soon land on the surface of the Red Planet once again as part of NASA's Mars Exploration Program, in collaboration with Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI).The star of the new Mars mission is the Perseverance rover, equipped with different measurement devices. One of these is the MEDA (Mars Environmental Dynamic Analyzer) device package that includes a measurement instrument designed by FMI. The instrument is based on Vaisala pressure and humidity sensors, used to gather accurate readings for the study of the Martian atmosphere.

The unforgiving conditions in space pose strict demands on technology, requiring the most reliable sensors that can be trusted to endure without repair. The new HMP1 probe offers optimal measurement performance in critical production and storage systems as well as in locations such as data centers, where measurement accuracy, easy maintenance and robustness are crucial. Temperature monitoring clinical studies to fight against COVID-19 goes mobile ...

In order to be able to carry out clinical studies for COVID-19, an American drug manufacturer decided to use campers as a mobile research facility. A monitoring system was needed for the refrigerators and freezers inside, as they were opened and closed at least twenty times a day. The right devices could be delivered within a few weeks. To do this, they used several VaiNet AP10 network access devices in combination with the RFL100 temperature probes, which were placed in the refrigerators and freezers. The data was transmitted to the validated viewLinc monitoring system via standard modems.

Stable and precise room pressure monitoring and control with PresSura TTW sensor ...

Anemometer-based TTW (Through-the-Wall) sensors, such as the PresSura model, use thermal anemometry to capture air flow and convert this data into an extremely accurate pressure measurement.

PresSura continuously measures the room pressure and check the correct air flow. They help hospitals ensure the safety of patients and staff.

Hospitals have been able to convert existing wards into functioning temporary isolation rooms in less than 60 minutes if necessary.

The probes are able to measure air flows from 0.2 m / s. Compared to the ZS cylinder probes, it has a significantly lower sensitivity to indirect oncoming flow, so that it can be used when the direction of the flow is unknown. The probe is made of stainless steel, aluminum and zinc alloy and the working temperature range is up to +125 ° C.

 

They are suitable for fixed and portable measuring of flow velocity  v [m / s] in clean gases, briefly in polluting gases. You can also calibrate them with the Dakks calibration.
