| Human Capital Community Human Capital community event: ''Let’s talk about stress'' on 11 October
During this interactive event, Saskia Portegies, vitality coach at Solid Sense, took us through questions such as: what is stress, how do I recognize it within myself and others, what can I do about it and how do I talk about it with integrity and effectiveness? The event was very successful. There were participants from different HR functions and companies at LBSP. Everyone has to deal with this at work in their own way, within their own team or department. That's what made the workshop so interesting. It was an inspiring and energetic session where we applied/practiced Saskia's advice right away with the whole group. Nice to see how small changes can have so much impact!
Due to the success of this event, we have decided to organize a second workshop on Tuesday 14 February 2023. The invitation will be sent out in January. if you want to receive this invitation, sign up here for our Human Capital community mailing list. |

LBSP Community Projects Call to action: renewed internship platform
We are pleased to announce that, in an effort to strengthen the ties between the students and the organizations on the LBSP, the LBSP internship platform has been renewed. Therefore, we are asking all organisations that are interested in introducing their company to the students of Leiden (and other regional, national and international young talent) to publish their internships on the renewed internship platform. This can be done through the same ‘My Park’ account that is used for job offerings. https://leidenbiosciencepark.nl/mypark/login
Insights from this project will be discussed during the Human Capital event on 13 December. Facts & Figures Currently the LBSP Facts and Figures project is nearing its end stages. The objective of this project is to create (and maintain) more insight into the societal and economic impact of the LBSP’s resident organizations, as well as the LBSP’s current and future development. The obtained insights of this project will be used to further improve the internal ecosystem as well as the national and international positioning of the LBSP. More information? International collaboration to strengthen the development of ATMPs
The Leiden University Medical Center, Skånes universitetssjukhus (Skåne University Hospital) and Lund University will collaborate to develop research, education and development in the field of ATMPs.
ATMPs are innovative and complex biological drugs based on cells, tissues or genes that offer new ground-breaking opportunities for treatment of a variety of disease, such as various forms of cancer, Parkinson's disease and genetic blood disorders. This cooperation is the essence of a Memorandum of Understanding signed yesterday at the SciLifeLab near Stockholm, during the state visit of the Dutch Royal couple in Sweden. The Swedish Minister for Education Anna Ekström and Dutch Minister for Education, Culture and Science Robbert Dijkgraaf attended the signing.

Come and tell students about your job at the LBSP on 11 November!
You may recognise it: as a student, working life feels far away. What does it mean to work? How do you find out what suits you and what doesn't? To what extent do the choices you make as a starter on the labour market influence your career? Career advisors and company visits can, of course, tell students a lot about this, but someone who has experienced it themselves makes a bigger impression.
These conversations are in the form of group speed dates in a low-key setting on 11 November. In addition to learning about someone's career, the purpose of these speed dates is also to teach students how to have a networking conversation. To help you, there will be cards with interesting career questions on the tables.
Do you work at the LBSP? Then we are looking for you! We would very much appreciate it if, during the closing network drinks of the Bio Science Park Excursion, you could tell students about your company, what your job entails and how your career has progressed. If you would like to do this, please register here.

Whatsapp Neighbourhood Watch group The business association OVBSP has asked Martien Hogewoning to set up a Whatsapp Neighbourhood Watch group.
The LBSP has several buildings housing laboratories. It is good to realise that there may be an increased risk. It is and therefore important to be able to inform the surrounding area and surrounding buildings in case of incidents. By working more closely together (good neighbour principle), we can continue to ensure that in the event of incidents everyone is informed in time and the right measures can be taken. Therefore, the LBSP will be divided into a number of logical clusters in which “neighbourhood watch apps” can inform their neighbours about incidents. Apart from incidents, the app is of course also suitable for reporting abuses :nuisances, thefts, burglaries, etc. You are of course free to contact Martien Hogewoning yourself: martienhogewoning@gmail.com |

◼️ Do you report a crime?
When you have become victim of a crime, or have observed anything suspicious, report this to the police. This notification is not only important for you as a victim, but also assists the police in monitoring criminal behavior on the LBSP, which may lead to increasing the level of police supervision on the park.
You can report a crime or any suspicious situation directly, by calling 112 (for emergencies) of 0900-8844. In some situations, it is also possible to report this online: www.politie.nl or by calling 0900 8844, to make an appointment at one of the nearby police stations.
Let’s join hands to ensure a safe LBSP. |
